Tell us your name and age?
Rachael, 31
How long have you been in the fitness industry?
I properly started in the fitness industry 5 years ago when I moved to London. Although before this I was a professional dancer for many years, which is not too far off.
What has fitness done for you?
Fitness has given me a meaning and a purpose. Before ever being part of the fitness world, working out and accomplishing physical goals was always my one constant and safety net. I love that I can now share that with my members and teach you how powerful that is. No matter what kind of day you’ve had or situation you may be in, if you get yourself onto your bike, I can tell you right now that you will jump off feeling in control, positive, and centred within yourself.
How has joining Echelon changed your fitness journey?
I have been brought into an incredible family of riders, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of Echelon! The support shown from every single member from all over the world is incredible, and it's such a powerful tool, especially after the last few years we have all experienced. No matter how far away from each other, being part of such a strong community is incredibly motivating and inspiring.
What would you say is your favourite class genre and why?
I love a 45min Fusion. It was my first class I ever taught and has been my favourite from day dot. We work the legs, the arms, climb heavy hills, have a dance, the world is our oyster, and I love that! 45min is a great amount of time for you to really dig your teeth into the ride, and, I promise you, everyone can fit a 45min ride into their day.
For whom are your classes best suited?
Anyone who is up for challenging themselves and having a laugh while doing it. I will always give ways to progress and regress my rides so no matter where you are in your fitness and Echelon journey, everyone can get involved.
How do you keep your attendees motivated during your classes?
You've got to join to find out!
Just kidding. Look, exercising should be fun, enjoyable and should leave you with a sense of accomplishment and achievement. I will push you and give you motivational tips and cues, as well as chat utter nonsense and keep you thoroughly entertained! Time goes by fast when you are having fun. I want you jumping off the bike being excited with the prospect of what you will be able to achieve the next time you join an Echelon class.
What would you say to someone who is about to give up halfway through the class?
When you feel like you are about to give up, give yourself an extra 10 seconds before you do. I promise you will have the energy to do so, and this is also the point at which you become stronger mentally and physically. If every time you consider giving up you push yourself that little bit further, you will consistently break through to a new level that you never knew you had.
Describe in one sentence how your attendees feel after completing one of your classes?
The thunder from down under does not disappoint!
What would be your go-to workout playlist?
Summer house vibes for sure! And with European summer on the horizon, you bet there are going to be plenty of summer tunes coming your way!
What is your number one fitness tip?
Set realistic goals, be consistent, and accept the feelings of discomfort!
