Sage
Teaches on: UK, Connect Bike,
Lead instructor Sage is originally from Belize, but grew up for most of her life in Mexico. As an Echelon instructor since the very beginning and in the fitness world for 10 years, Sage juggles instructor and mum-of-two life like a pro! Her biggest fitness achievement was staying fit during pregnancy and finding her fitness after having children, learning to be very accepting of where she was at that moment of her journey.
How I’ll keep you motivated during my classes:I'm a big fan of basing all of my classes on scientific data. I'm very results driven. I'm very science driven. Every class of mine has got a clear plan for you to keep you motivated.
My favourite snack: Anything spicy. If you tell me it's really spicy and that there's no way I could handle it? Challenge accepted.
My number one fitness tip: Listen to what your body is saying. A lot of the time we detach ourselves from our body. We either expect more from ourselves or not enough rather than listening and trusting that our body knows best.
The world is ending, my final meal would be: The finest cut steak, with a glass of red wine, and a loaded baked potato with sour cream cheese, bacon, and chives.
My favourite motivational quote: Be as present as you can, live in the moment because it's all we've got.
My Echelon nickname:The Belize Bullet.
My favourite movie: Notting Hill. It's the reason I live in London!
Susanna
Teaches on: UK, Connect Bike,
Instructor Susanna is from Kingston-upon-Thames and has been in the fitness industry since 2003. Don’t let her sweet smile fool you - she can dish out a challenging class no matter your fitness level! She’s a mum of three and the founder of ‘Why Not Wednesday’ rides, so try one of her classes to find out what all the hype’s about!
How I keep people motivated:I like to give lots of shout-outs and encourage people and notice that they're doing really well or that they're improving over time.
My favourite snack: I like lots of snacks, but my favourite is peanut butter with apple. It's really good.
My hidden talent:I can cook a good meal, and I can experiment and make something different. I like to explore! I quite like oriental food, so I’d do a Thai curry or mincemeat with lots of ginger, spring onions and soya sauce in little lettuce-wrapped leaves.
My favourite motivational quote or mantra:"Trust the process"... I think sometimes it can be overwhelming to keep going to do something whether it's fitness or something else. To trust the process and keep doing it will mean you'll get to where you want to be.
My Echelon or fitness industry nickname: Well, I have been called Pocket Rocket, but I think that means something else in the US, I was told!
My inspiration:My mum was my inspiration because she was very strong-minded and would always do what she felt she wanted to do, not in a selfish way. She was a strong, strong woman.
My super power would be:I would like to be invisible and scare people. Just creep up behind people and say boo especially to Paul in the Echelon studio. He's always scaring me!
Rowan
Teaches on: UK, Connect Bike,
Yorkshire-born Rowan has a personality and class vibe of his own. He’s lived in London, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Manila, and is a keen road cyclist and runner. His classes will take you on a journey of whatever virtual route he has planned for you on that day! Whether it's clients, whether it's personal, whether it's professional, sport and fitness has always been part of his life.
My biggest fitness achievement:I played semi professional football for years in Hong Kong in the first division in front of 40,000 people. We lost 8-1. But it was a great experience!
My number one fitness tip: Consistency, in a word. Find something you enjoy doing and do it regularly. And over time, it will really, really pay off.
My favourite snack: Bananas and nuts, any sort of nuts, they all go together very well.
3 things I’d take with me to a desert island:I would take a piano. I can't play the piano, I can't read music, but there'd be a lot of time And I think it would help me just occupy my mind. And if I failed, I could probably make it into a raft and try to escape. I would also take a pump top football so I can do keepy ups. And a radio that has limitless battery life.
The world is ending tomorrow, my last meal would be:Salmon Sinigang. It's a Filipino dish that's a bit sweet and sour. It's in a broth and I'd have it with steamed rice.
My hidden talent: I can do a movement where I get off the floor in one movement to my feet that I've never seen anyone else able to do!
My Echelon or fitness industry nickname: There’s a few! I've been called the Bromley Bomber, the Kentish Killer, the boss.
My guilty pleasure: A cake. And dunking several biscuits in a cup of tea, definitely. What kind of biscuits? Chocolate Hobnobs.
Go-to karaoke song:Puff the Magic Dragon.
Demi
Teaches on: UK, Connect Bike,
Our Essex queen Demi has been in the fitness industry for over 14 years, and has been with Echelon UK since the London studio opened. If you’re looking for a high energy class, Demi is for you! She’s a loving mother to baby Halle and is a keen tennis player and runner. My biggest fitness achievement probably was when I did a half marathon. I absolutely love running, but it's just not really my sport, but I put myself through a half marathon and yeah, I did it! One hour and 43 minutes!
Who my classes are best suited for:People who need high energy, because I'm very loud and out there. Though they are for everyone. If someone's low energy, I’m bringing them up. If you feel down, come to my class. I'm instantly going to make you feel better.
My favourite snack:Jaffa cakes. But I'll have ten. You know you get the triple box? I always get the triple box.
The world is ending tomorrow. My last meal is:
Probably spaghetti bolognese. Garlic bread as well, on the side. You can't really do much better than that. For dessert it's gotta be a New York cheesecake.
My favourite motivational quote or mantra:No pain, no champagne. Always!
My Echelon or fitness industry nickname?Demi the Diva.
My guilty pleasure: It's got to be the Real Housewives of Cheshire. And Big Brother, Love Island, all of them.
My go to karaoke song:
In Lanzarote I decided to sing Whitney Houston's I will Always Love You to my partner in front of the whole bar. Which I'm never going to forget. He was like - you never do that again.
Rachael
Teaches on: UK, Connect Bike,
Born on the sunny northern beaches of Sydney, Australia, ex-dancer Rachael will keep you on your toes during a workout. She’s lived and worked in four different continents, and her energy and instruction during a class is sure to keep you motivated.
My number one fitness tip:Consistency. Motivation comes and goes. Consistency is key.
The world is ending - what is my last meal? Starter - burrata. Then I'll do a mixed seafood pasta. And dessert, maybe gelato.
My hidden talent:I'm really good at reverse parking. Not so much forward parking.
Something that you might not know about me: I used to be a magician's assistant.
My motivational quote:You will never regret a workout!
My Echelon nickname:Thunder from Down Under.
What has fitness done for me?It is my go to. It is my savior. It's when I'm feeling down, it's the one thing I can control. It's created a body that I'm proud of because I can focus on being strong and able rather than coming from the performance background I came in, which can be a little bit detrimental to your mental health.
Carly
Teaches on: UK, Connect Bike,
Carly made a transition into the fitness industry 6 years ago after working in IT. Originally from New Jersey in the USA, she’s got a wealth of industry experience and now resides in London with her husband and daughter. From Carly’s classes you can expect some tough love coupled with encouragement to keep your mind off the work.
My favourite movie:Shawshank Redemption and Mean Girls.
My go to karaoke song:Fast car.
My favourite motivational quote:That you are the master of yourself. No one else will make you exercise, no one else is responsible for your health or your wellness. We live in a time and a place where everything is go, go, go. Reminding yourself and being responsible for your own time to take care of yourself is so important.
The world is ending tomorrow, what’s your last meal?I’m a sucker for chicken fingers.
What fitness has done for me: Fitness has transformed me from the inside out. Obviously you get the external benefits of strength and being physically fit, but internally, it transformed the way I thought about myself, and the way I thought about the world. I have struggled with anxiety in the past and fitness has been my biggest tool to combat that. That’s why I wanted to get into fitness as a profession, because I wanted to be able to help others, and that what I give to the world.
My guilty pleasure: Reality TV like the really bad ones, like Real Housewives and stuff like that.
Antonia
Teaches on: UK, Germany, Connect Bike,
Antonia is from Munich, Germany - the city of beer and the one true Oktoberfest! She moved to London to study 7 years ago, and only really discovered her passion for fitness in the last few years. Fun fact, I used to be such an incredibly unsporty person growing up and sometimes my mum still can’t believe her ears when I tell her about my indoor cycling and PT journey!
My number one fitness tip: Find a routine that works for you and stay consistent. If you need to force yourself to keep up with something you don’t enjoy or that doesn’t work for you, it’s more tempting to give up at some point
The world is ending - my last meal is:
Starter: Bruschetta
Main: Ramen
Dessert: a cookie, but not just any cookie - it’s gotta be the Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip cookie from NYC's Levain Bakery
Something that you might not know about me: I used to be a music journalist. I interviewed tons of famous artists and actors, it’s been super fun and there were definitely some pinch-me moments!
My motivational quote:When you feel like quitting (which, let’s be honest, seems like such an easy option sometimes) really remember why you started and keep pushing through
Who my classes are best suited for: Literally everyone, I try to be as inclusive as possible and give cadence/resistance ranges where possible
My favourite snack: It sounds super basic but it’s Greek yoghurt with berries, a little dash of biscoff spread and ideally some granola
My guilty pleasure: Watching The Office, every year I rewatch it, it’s such a guilty pleasure
My go to karaoke song: Give me anything from ABBA and I’ll give it my all
My inspiration: A lot of things inspire me, but when it comes to fitness, it’s the people who never used to be athletic growing up but eventually push against the odds and become top runners/lifters/athletes. That really motivates me!
Sarah
Teaches on: UK, France, Connect Bike,
A lover of movement from the age of 4 after attending her first ballet class, Sarah now teaches multiple disciplines. Joining Echelon as one of our French cycling instructors, she loves exploring variety within classes and will put you through your paces.
My number one fitness tip: Do things or classes you love, that’s the best way to stay consistent.
The world is ending - my last meal is: meringue, marshmallows and sorbet. Chuck in strawberries and blueberries for health…
My motivational quote: Life isn’t about looking for something, it’s about the way you CHOOSE to see it.
3 things I’d take with me to a desert island: Music, king sized bed and a Lighter (so I can make a fire).
Who my classes are best suited for: All!!! I try to be as inclusive as possible. I’m just grateful people choose to swap the sofa for a class with me!
My guilty pleasure: anything with Channing Tatum in….
How I keep people motivated: Allowing them to show up as their authentic self instead of their best self. Celebrate each thing you do, it doesn’t have to be your best!
My inspiration: Seeing how one person’s actions can change another’s. The ripple effect of the greater good we can all achieve through moment and connection.
My biggest achievement: Buying my first flat at the age of 24 with no financial help from my parents, just from working to earn money and saving pocket money from jobs aside from the age of 15!

How I keep people motivated:Positivity and connection - reminding them of their why, cheering them on, an showing them that we're in it together
My favourite snack: Peanut butter - some may say it's not a snack but I'm telling you it's the best
My hidden talent:I love training - but life is about balance, so I also love baking as well.
My favourite motivational quote or mantra:"You have to risk it to get the biscuit!
My Echelon or fitness industry nickname: Mari the Machine - coined by my brother!
My inspiration:My family
My super power would be:Since I was little, I knew I wanted to fly... though I am scared of heights, ha!

Born in the UK and raised in New Zealand, her love of sports began at an early age. There weren't many sports she didn't try - inline skating, jive dancing and fencing to name a few! As a teenager, Karen competed in national and international taekwondo competitions, discovering first-hand the role that exercise and nutrition play in high-level performance, which inspired her to pursue a career in fitness. A keen music lover, Kaz believes the right beat is crucial to motivate you to push through a workout! Having worked as an English language tutor in South Korea and Italy, Karen also speaks three languages and spends her free time travelling, trying new foods and hunting around vintage clothing shops in London.
How I keep people motivated:I’m honoured when people carve time out of their days to come and train with me, so I see it as my responsibility to ensure the workouts are as fun and effective as possible in return. I believe that energy and enthusiasm are contagious.
My favourite snack: Almond butter... With dates, yoghurt, spoon...
My hidden talent:I did taekwondo competitions when I was a teenager, and I was national board-breaking champion at one point. I tried again recently to see if I could still do it, and the result was fortunately a broken board and not a broken foot!
My favourite motivational quote or mantra:"Challenge is where change happens."
My Echelon or fitness industry nickname: Usually just Kaz, but I have also been called the ‘Energizer Bunny’!
My inspiration:My Dad. He has loved cycling from an early age and it showed me the importance of exercising purely for fun. We're also both quite competitive!
My super power would be:Time-travel, so I could go back and erase all of my embarrassing moments! Or mind reading would be fun too.
