The importance of fitness plans

If you’re joining our Routine Reboot challenge, you’ll be happy to hear that regular exercise has a number of mental and physical benefits, such as:

Cardiovascular: A regular fitness routine will have a significant impact on your cardiovascular system as well as heart and lung health. Studies have shown that as you get in better physical condition, your heart changes and gets better at putting oxygen into your blood. This means that over time, you will need less energy to do the same workouts.

Mood: Regular exercise has shown to improve your mood as well as to lower stress, anxiety, and depression. Active people have been shown to quickly develop symptoms of anxiety and depression when they quit routinely working out.

Weight maintenance: When you get back into an exercise routine after a break, you will most likely see an increase in your metabolic rate. However, to feel the full benefits it’s important that you train at a consistent level and stick to your new exercise routine.

Staying motivated

Staying motivated to achieve your fitness goals is a struggle that many people. However, there are a number of techniques you can use to remain motivated, including:

Don’t forget your goals: Whether you’re exercising to feel good mentally, train for a specific event or just for general fitness benefits- there will certainly be a reason as to why you’re taking on Routine Reboot, so don’t let go of it, and remember these reasons next time you’re lacking motivation.

Thinking about post-exercise achievement: Quite simply, if you’re struggling to find motivation, think about how good you will feel after you’ve finished!

Switch it up: If you find a workout that you love, exercise will no longer feel like a chore, and you’ll even look forward to your workouts. To avoid tedium, switch up your workouts regularly, to ensure your routine is full of variety.
